FIRST CONTACT at St Kilda Film Festival

First Contact is one of St Kilda Film Festival's top 100 short films in 2013.

The festival begins today, and First Contact screens at The Astor Theatre on Saturday June 1st, from 3pm, alongside five other short films including Yardbird and Sleight of Hand.

This is a homecoming of sorts for First Contact, as the Melbourne production began its Australian festival run at MIFF in 2012 and has since appeared at more than twenty festivals in fourteen countries.

St Kilda Film Festival will possibly be the last chance to see FC's award winning cinematography on a very large screen.

In addition, I'll be speaking about my work editing the film at a St Kilda Film Festival "Focus On Editing" panel presented by the Australian Screen Editors Guild on Wednesday May 29th, from 6:30pm.

It's a free event at All Saints Church's Forum Hall (opposite the Astor on Chapel Street) which also features Annabelle Johnson talking about her work on Dave's Dead, and Michael Shanks talking about his Roadgeek "Towards The Sunlight" music video.

ONE NIGHT STAND wins at Short In Paradise

One Night Stand has won the audience award at Shorts in Paradise. The film was dubbed the most entertaining of the thirteen finalists when attendees voted with their phones last night.
