I've recently finished creating a music video for Anonymeye's excellent esoteric instrumental track, "Federation".
The song is taken from Anonymeye's third album "Anontendre", which has just been released on the Someone Good label.
The track is strange and unique, and when Andrew Tuttle (a.k.a. Anonymeye) played it for me, I instantly linked it to a music-video-slash-video-art idea I'd had called "picture in pixel". The idea involves placing the main shot as a picture-in-picture, then filling the rest of the frame with a highly pixelated version of the same shot.
Both the clip and the track are slow paced and experimental, with a certain intricacy that (hopefully) requires and rewards repeat viewings.
I also produced the video, and it was shot by Sean T. Barnes of Pastel Prairie with his trusty Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR. I edited and composited using Final Cut Pro 7.
Anonymeye is launching the album in Australian capital cities throughout the rest of 2011. It's well worth a trip to one of his shows.
